Shakes is co-founder of Kwande Capital. He has extensive experience in investment management, deal making and capital raising. Previously a director in the Investment Banking team at Standard Bank, his core skills are in general corporate finance (mergers and acquisition) and deal structuring. He also spent 4 years in the oil & gas sector as a process engineer at the PetroSA refinery in Mossel Bay.  He holds a BSc Engineering (Chemical) (UCT), a BCom (UNISA) and an MBA (UCT).
